Why We Built It
Most online firearm marketplaces exist to either skim a percentage off your sale, route you through an FFL you don’t want, or quietly resell your listing data. The big auction sites collect 5-12% on the hammer price. Free-to-list platforms make their money on financing partners or by gating sellers behind verification fees.
We didn’t want that for our own collections, so we built something different. GunShare doesn’t take a cut, doesn’t hold your funds in escrow, doesn’t run financing, and doesn’t sell your buyer’s contact info. We make money on the other sites in our ecosystem — when buyers run a GunClear stolen-gun check, or when a transfer requires GunTransfer for interstate or UBC-state sales. Listings stay free forever.
How GunShare Works
You list a firearm with photos, condition, asking price, and your state. Buyers in your state see it first — because most private sales between people in the same state don’t legally require an FFL transfer. We mark listings clearly with the rules in the buyer’s state so nobody accidentally breaks federal law on a casual deal.
